Are you competent to join ACCA? Find out!

Over 170 countries in the world are members of the ACCA. The ACCA qualification is well respected in the industry. Someone who has a passion for accounting and a desire to work in an international setting would do well to pursue a career in the field. The course does not require CAs to take it. Additionally, you will receive a global accounting qualification at the end of the system.

If you are considering becoming an ACCA, you should:

1) You have a good understanding of maths/accounting and want to pursue a business or accounting course after high school

Having passed your HSC, you can begin studying for the ACCA. For those who are reasonably sure of their career goals, starting early with such courses makes sense.

2) You already possess a background in accounting, finance, or taxation

If you are seeking a career in global accounting, this is an intuitive next step. You will be eligible for many exemptions if you take a CA or MBA course since many of the systems are related.

3) You are looking for a global career or are relocating to the United Kingdom

Let’s suppose you move to the UK from your current location for an accounting job or because of a personal decision, either because your firm is sending you or performing well. In that case, having completed this course will make things easier.

4) You want to gain a deeper understanding of accounting

An ACCA will broaden your horizons and improve your career progression prospects if you are already working in the financial or management accounting field, especially in a global firm.

5) You are seeking roles and resume improvements

As an ACCA, you will be tested over a few years on your knowledge of accounting topics. Your market value and resume will increase.

If you are looking to enhance your accountancy skills or pursue a finance career outside Nepal, you should consider taking up the ACCA course. You also get to be a part of the league of professional accountants around the globe, thereby opening many possible avenues for you.
