Most colleges choose their students based on merit or entrance exams (written examinations) that may or may not be administered by the institution – requirements vary by university.

Admissions based on merit

Many colleges use the step-by-step admission process outlined below.

Step 1 Filling out and submitting applications: Students must fill out an application form for their specific university – either online or offline; some universities only accept online applications, while others accept both.

Step 2 Upload documents: Students should scan and upload all required documents for admission and verification on the admission portal after filling out all needed details in the application form.

Step 3 Application fee: Once the documents have been uploaded, students must pay the application fee, which varies by college, and they will receive their application number through SMS or email.

Step 4 Application Analyze and Candidate Shortlisting: The university’s admissions team will review students’ applications to determine their eligibility, then shortlist them. These students will get invited to participate in group discussions and give individual interviews.

Step 5 Group Discussions and Personal Interviews: Some colleges hold group discussions and personal interviews to understand the candidate’s personality and background about the university’s expectations.

Admission is determined through an entrance exam.

The admission process for institutes that grant admission based on entrance tests is as follows:

  1. Fill out and submit the application forms in the first step.
  2. Add the relevant papers to your account.
  3. Paying the application fee
  4. Register for the Entrance Exam; if the university to which the student has applied does not automatically register the student for the entrance exam, the student must register well before the deadline.
  5. Entrance Exams show candidate shortlisting and results. Admission exam scores will determine which candidates will be shortlisted. The candidates who have been shortlisted will be contacted for further verification.
