ACCA Study Tips: How to Handle Time Pressure?

Time pressure will begin to set in when you are studying for your ACCA. It isn’t a pleasant experience, and we’ve all experienced it at one point or another. Following are four simple but effective tips that will help you stay focused on the task at hand.

1) Build a study planner\ It is essential to plan some time, and this will quickly be done using a web calendar like Google calendar or My Study Life.

Map out each exam you’re thanks to sitting and make sure you allow the acceptable amount of your time, considering your strengths and weaknesses.

2) Use a study method you trust

Having an efficient study method is crucial to passing any exam. It’s going to be tempting at this late stage to think about sourcing a replacement study method that’s rumoured to be a “game-changing” approach. Avoid these flashy techniques and stick with what has worked for you every time.

3) Understand the study content

You must specialise in understanding the topics and don’t adopt a memorisation technique that you think will assist you to cover everything during this short period of your time.

The examiner will be trying to find new angles to approach when asking you an issue, and this may be much easier if you’ve got a robust understanding of the topic.

Also, understanding the subject matter helps you to determine the connections between topics.

It reduces your memorisation volume, so it will be much easier to study and answer questions.

4) Make sure you have rest periods

Once you are in the middle of your studying process, you need time for breaks.

Continuous study without breaks will give the illusion of progress without actually making any progress in the least. Give yourself a while to breathe and return to your study with a renewed sense of focus.
