When studying for your ACCA qualification accounting exams, your health is extremely vital. It’s a challenging balancing act, but there are strategies to ensure that you can balance studies and your job while reducing stress.
We’ll look at some simple and practical techniques to achieve a decent work/life balance and reduce stress so you can pass your forthcoming exams in this article.
Here are some coping tactics to consider:
Make a plan.
Exam success hinges on effective preparation. Plan your study and revision to help you attain the goals you’ve set for yourself.
Being organized and developing strong study habits will not only help you succeed academically, but they will also benefit your mental and physical health.
Because you only have so much time to prepare for your exam, break it down into manageable parts and make a plan. You won’t start the day wondering what to do if you have a plan.
Also, make sure you arrange a spare time to relax and safeguard it. Nobody can work 24 hours a day, seven days a week. You might be able to perform more efficiently if you get enough rest.
Consider the positivity.
When it comes to exam time, having a positive outlook can help you feel more confident.
To do so, make sure you’ve done the correct kind of study – this doesn’t simply mean reading notes all day; you’ll also need to practice past test questions.
Don’t dismiss it if you can’t complete any part of a question on a previous exam — call a buddy or, better yet, contact your tutor (if you have one).
Remember that if you find a question tough, chances are that others will as well.
Wind down.
Many students will be familiar with the nervous, nauseated feeling that often accompany a test. There are, however, solutions to alleviate these feelings.
Try to take calm, deep breaths and tell yourself, “Take it easy, just relax.” You’ll find that the nervousness dissipates rapidly, allowing you to focus on the questions.
Prepare yourself.
Knowing you’ve prepared as much as you possibly can is the best way to feel confident during the exam.
To avoid question spots, make sure you’ve gone through the entire syllabus for the exam you’re taking. You will be able to speak confidently on any topic because you will be familiar with the syllabus.
Maintain a good balance.
Certain foods and beverages can assist you in thinking effectively during the exam.
Drinking water beforehand will help but don’t drink too much or you’ll be constantly going to the bathroom. To stay hydrated, keep a small bottle of water on your desk.
Also, make sure you eat something at least an hour before the exam to avoid being distracted by hunger pangs. It’s important not to overeat because it can make you sleepy.
Keep yourself occupied.
Worrying and thinking too much about the exam ahead of time might sometimes exacerbate your anxiousness. Finding something to do to keep your mind off it is an excellent strategy to overcome this.
Another technique to relieve tension is to go for a walk in the park or do a half-hour of
physical activity. It’s also possible to keep your thoughts occupied by lying down and listening to music.
Use these suggestions to help you prepare for your ACCA qualification examination so that you have the best chance of remaining calm and passing on the big day.
