NCA College of Management, in collaboration with ACCA Nepal, organized a full-day training on International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) in Dhangadhi on 15th November 2025, marking a significant step in strengthening accounting education in Nepal.
The program focused on enhancing teachers’ knowledge of IFRS and Nepal Financial Reporting Standards (NFRS), with the goal of improving how these global standards are taught at the secondary and undergraduate levels. A total of 75 teachers representing 65 colleges from Banke, Bardiya, Kailali, and Kanchanpur districts participated, demonstrating strong regional commitment to upgrading accounting education.

The event featured the presence of several distinguished education leaders. Prof. Dr. Padam Raj Joshi, Dean of Management at Far Western University, attended as the Chief Guest, while Durga Dutt Bista, Director General of Shikshya Bikash Nirdeshanalaya, Far West Province, joined as the Distinguished Guest. Representatives from PABSON, NPABSAN, HISSAN, Principals Association Nepal, journalists, and other stakeholders also took part, reflecting broad community support for the initiative.
As part of its corporate social responsibility initiative, NCA, in association with ACCA Nepal, is promoting the effective implementation of NFRS by conducting training programs facilitated by Mr. Karna Thapa. These programs are designed to equip teachers with the knowledge required to deliver accurate, updated, and globally aligned accounting lessons in Grades 11 and 12, as well as bachelor-level programs.

The session was coordinated by Mr. Narayan Acharya, an educationist, and formally chaired by Mr. Suresh Pandit, Chairperson of NCA College of Management. During the opening session, Mr. Rabin Katwal, Head of ACCA Nepal, welcomed all participants and emphasized the importance and long-term impact of IFRS training for educators. The Chairperson presented a token of appreciation to the Chief Guest and other dignitaries.
Another key highlight of the program was the introduction of NCA College of Management’s newly launched Digital Learning Management System (LMS) for ACCA students. Mr. Pandit introduced the benefits of the LMS, which include recorded lectures, practice question banks, mock exams, Q&A segments, and live interactive sessions. This digital platform is expected to greatly benefit students residing in rural regions or those unable to attend physical classes in Kathmandu.

The successful completion of this training marks another meaningful milestone to strengthen financial literacy and uplift the standard of accounting education across the country, with plans to expand to other regions as well.
